Renovation and RECONSTRUCTION OF THE OLD TOWER ON A MANSION,
COLLONGE-BELLERIVE
The restoration of this Neo-Norman-style heritage home dating from 1895 has restored the tower to its original splendour while reinforcing its architectural presence. Compared with the before and after photographs, the changes made are significant in both aesthetic and structural terms. In the pre-restoration image, the half-timbering has disappeared and the original tower has been demolished, while the colour palette and materials have been tarnished by time.
In contrast, the post-restoration image reveals a genuine revival: the tower rises with an elegance accentuated by the choice of subtle colours, enhancing the texture and depth of the façade. The roof has been carefully restored, incorporating finishing elements that reinforce the architectural harmony of the whole. The ornamental details on the roof, added or restored, give the building a more refined character, recalling the architectural codes of the 19th century.
The windows and balconies have also been restored to their original proportions and style, allowing them to blend in better with the surrounding landscape. The painting of the shutters, in subtle contrast with the façade, accentuates the verticality and magnifies the silhouette of the tower.
In short, this restoration represents a perfect blend of respect for heritage and contemporary intervention, transforming the tower into a veritable icon that honours the past while remaining relevant to the present.
The entire building is listed by the Service des Monuments et Sites (SMS).
