Olafur Eliasson'sexhibition : " Objects defined by the activity"  presented at Espace Muraille brings together a selection of 16 works that testify to the artist's research on time, perception, space, movement and the relativity of reality.

Eliasson is an artist who considers our time, not only from a scientific and artistic point of view, but also with the sense of a global ecological emergency, as shown by his projects Little Sun, Ice Watch and Green Light - An Artistic workshop. The works in this exhibition are examples of what the artist calls his "experimental installations" - they disorient viewers' perceptions, encouraging them to move and examine the work from different angles. A process that refers to Eliasson's idea that the viewer is a co-producer of the work.

Olafur Eliasson was born in 1967. He grew up in Iceland and Denmark.
In 1995, he moved to Berlin and founded the Olafur Eliasson Studio, which now includes some ninety craftsmen, specialized technicians, architects, archivists, administrators, programmers, art historians, and cooks.
The art of Olafur Eliasson is entirely inhabited by his interest in the phenomena of perception, of movement, by the experience of oneself and one's body. Through his art, Eliasson is committed to tackling broader societal issues. For him, art is an essential weapon for transforming ideas into action. Eliasson's plural work - including sculptures, paintings, photographs, films, and installations - has already been the subject of numerous exhibitions around the world.
Beyond the limited sphere of museums and galleries, his practice is aimed at a wide audience through architectural projects and interventions in the public space.

Eliasson and architect Sebastian Behmann founded Studio Other Spaces, an international office for art and architecture, in Berlin in 2014.
As an architectural counterpart to Studio Olafur Eliasson, Studio Other Spaces focuses on interdisciplinary and experimental building projects in the public space.
